For the Second Year, Reds on the River Partners with Area Nonprofits with Gifts ‘that keep on giving’ – including the Rockford Area Arts Commission

When the hustle and bustle of the holidays has passed and families’ turn their attention to the New Year, once local company will deliver gifts ‘that keep on giving’ through six local charities. Reds on the River in Rockford has partnered with the following organizations and will donate 10% of a person’s gift card purchase to the benefiting organization requested by the purchaser:

  • North Kent Community Services (www.nkcsc.com)
  • Rockford Education Foundation (www.rockfordschools.org/?i=REF)
  • Rockford Relay for Life/American Cancer Society
  • Wolverine World Wide Family YMCA Strong Kids Scholarships (www.grymca.org)
  • Friends of the White Pine Trail (www.whitepinetrail.com)
  • Rockford Area Arts Commission (www.artsrockford.org)

This is Reds’ second year of providing a new path to give to your local community while giving the gift of dining. The program kicks off November 21st and runs through December 31st. Those wishing to purchase Reds holiday gift cards for family, friends and colleagues may stop into Reds during normal business hours and designate the organization they wish to receive 10% of the total gift card sale. Reds will track sales by each organization and send each organization a check after the New Year.

Sue Arend, Administrator of the Rockford Education Foundation:
“On behalf of the Rockford Education Foundation (REF), we are grateful for Reds’ generosity with the holiday gift card program.  The REF awards $70,000 in grants to the Rockford schools and community for educational projects and just recently reached $1 million in grant funding.  Our donors make this possible and thanks to Reds’ generosity, holiday gift card purchases will help us fund even more grant opportunities.”

Jeff Lewis, 2012-2013 Chairperson Rockford Area Arts Commission:
“We are grateful to Reds on the River and the Rockford community for their support of the arts and look forward to dining together at Reds and enjoying the arts together throughout the coming year.”
